Claude Cooper (Claude William Cooper) was born on April 1, 1892 in Troup, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1913 for the New York Giants. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 2 home runs and 25 RBI. Cooper played for the New York Giants, Brooklyn Tip-Tops and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Claude Cooper's best season was 1915, when he stole 31 bases, hit for a .294 average and knocked in 63 runs.
