Clarence Horning (Clarence Edward Horning) was born on November 15, 1892 in Phoenix, New York. After going to high school at Caledonia (NY), Horning attended Colgate University. Horning made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Detroit Heralds. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Heralds over the course of his 2 year APFA career.Horning also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Toledo Maroons the entire time.
