Clarence Avinger (Clarence Edmund Avinger) was born on December 15, 1928 in Beatrice, Alabama. After going to high school at Sidney Lanier (Montgomery, AL), Avinger attended the University of Alabama. Avinger made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
