Cito Gaston (Clarence Edwin Gaston) was born on March 17, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1967 for the Atlanta Braves. In 1969, his rookie year, he hit .230 with 2 home runs and 28 RBI. Gaston played for the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Cito Gaston's best season was 1970, when he slugged 29 home runs, hit for a .318 average and knocked in 93 runs.

Gaston also served as manager of the Toronto Blue Jays from 1989-1997 and 2008-Present, winning the 1992 and 1993 World Series with the club.
