Born on April 18, 1942 in Shelbyville, Tennessee, Chuck Taylor (Charles Gilbert Taylor) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers and Montreal Expos over the course of his 8 year career. Taylor broke into the bigs on May 27, 1969 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.56 ERA in 126.2 innings pitched in 1969, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Chuck Taylor's best season was 1974, when he posted a 2.17 ERA and notched 11 saves.
