Biography[]

Chuck Klein (Charles Herbert Klein) was born on October 7, 1904 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He made his Major League debut on July 30, 1928 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .360 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI. Klein played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 16 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Chuck Klein's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1930, when he slugged 40 home runs, hit for a .386 average and knocked in 170 runs. However, others believe that it was 1932, when he slugged 38 home runs, hit for a .348 average and knocked in 137 runs.
