Chuck Essegian (Charles Abraham Essegian) was born on August 9, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1958 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1961, his rookie year, he hit .289 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI. Essegian played for the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Athletics and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Chuck Essegian's best season was 1962, when he slugged 21 home runs and knocked in 50 runs.
