Chuck Dressen (Charles Walter Dressen) was born on September 20, 1898 in Decatur, Illinois. After going to high school at Decatur (IL), . Dressen made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Decatur Staleys. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Decatur Staleys the entire time. Dressen also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Racine Legion the entire time.
