Chuck DeShane (Charles Frederick DeShane) was born on December 10, 1918 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. After going to high school at Creston (Grand Rapids, MI), DeShane attended the University of Alabama. DeShane made his professional debut in the NFL in 1945 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1945 was Chuck DeShane's best year, as he picked off 3 passes, ran back an interception for a touchdown and ran back a punt for a touchdown.
