Chuck Bernard (Joseph Charles Bernard) was born on August 29, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Benton Harbor (MI), Bernard attended the University of Michigan. Bernard made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
