Christian Cullen
[edit] BiographyChristian Cullen was born in New Zealand in 1976. He is a rugby Union fullback. Cullen first came to prominence playing for Sevens rugby, especially at the Hong Kong Sevens where he scored 18 tries in the tournament, 7 in one game. In 1996 he was top try scorer for his club, the Hurricanes. In 1996 he made his début with the All Blacks. In the 1999 Rugby World Cup Cullen was played at centre, out of position. In 2002 he underwent a serious knee operation and although he made a succesful comeback some argue that he never regained his previous skill. He was controversially left out of the New Zealand RWC squad in 2003. That year, in his last game for Wellington he received a standing ovation from the crowd. At the end of 2003 Cullen moved from New Zealand to play with Munster RFC, however, his career there has been affected by injury. He remained a favourite with supporters until his retirement on 12th May 2007. [edit] Statistics[edit] Awards[edit] References[edit] Related Articles[edit] Recent Christian Cullen ArmchairGM Stories
