Chris Ward (Chris Gilbert Ward) was born on May 18, 1949 in Oakland, California. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1972 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1974, his rookie year, he hit .204 with 1 home run and 15 RBI. Ward played for the Chicago Cubs for his entire 1 year career.
