Chris Donnels (Chris Barton Donnels) was born on April 21, 1966 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on May 7, 1991 for the New York Mets. In 1993, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 2 home runs and 24 RBI. Donnels played for the New York Mets, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 8 year career.

Donnels was also one of the many players who were listed in the Mitchell Report. Steroid dealer Kirk Radomski Donnels admitted that he had purchased both steroids and Human Growth Hormone from Kirk Radomski. Radomski provided a number of checks from Donnels as evidence, which totalled up to $9,950.
