New York Jets WR Wayne Chrebet, an 11 year veteran, will officially announce his retirement on Friday. Chrebet, 32, suffered recurring concussion over the last couple of season, which factored into his decision to leave the game. Chrebet signed with the Jets in 1995 as an undrafted free agent from Hofstra. He had seven season where he caught 50 or more receptions and four seasons where he caught 60-plus catches. During his second season in the league, in 1996, Chrebet had 84 receptions. In 1998, Chrebet caught 75 passes for 1,083 yards, his career best. Overall, Chrebet finishes with 580 catches, 7,365 yards, and 41 touchdowns.
