Chile Gomez (Jose Luis (Gonzales) Gomez) was born on March 23, 1909 in Mazatlan, Sinaloa (Mexico). He made his Major League debut on July 27, 1935 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1935, his rookie year, he hit .230 with 0 home runs and 16 RBI. Gomez played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Senators over the course of his 3 year career.
