I don't think anybody on this site predicted a Chiefs victory except for me. Now I don't blame the rest of you, the Chiefs' dismal showing in the first three games would lead any reasonable person to pick the Chargers in this one. However, as a die hard Chiefs fan, I am unlikely to bet against the Chiefs in pretty much any situation. But being the "glass half full" kind of guy that I am, I'm always looking for the angle that has the Chiefs winning in the end. The Chiefs had been stingy in the red-zone all year. Dwayne Bowe had caught a touchdown in each of the previous two games. And there was evidence in the Minnesota game, that stubborn Herm Edwards and his staff, were willing to rethink thier "establish the run to set up the pass" philosophy. I said last week in several comments that I thought they should shift to a "establish the pass to set up the run" doctrine, given the fact that the Chiefs had two big strong recievers who are impossible to cover one on one. Of course I'm talking about Tony Gonzalez, and the emerging star Bowe. 8 receptions for 164 yards was not a fluke. Look forward to other big games from this guy. Huard is beginning to see that Bowe is likely to catch anything thrown near him, and Edwards is catching on too. There's a lot of season left, but if you had told me before the start of the season, that the Chiefs would be tied for first after 4 games this year,.....Ok, so I'm the eternal optimist, and I probably would have said, ...I believe it.
