Chief Wilson

Chief Wilson (John Owen Wilson) was born on August 21, 1883 in Austin, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1908 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1908, his rookie year, he hit .227 with 3 home runs and 43 RBI. Wilson played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that Chief Wilson's best season was 1912, when he hit for a .300 average and knocked in 95 runs.
