In a game that featured 26 runs, 34 hits & 9 home runs, the Cubs outslugged the Sox 15-11.

This was a wild one from the start. The Sox took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI double by Jermaine Dye scoring Scott Podsednik and A.J. Pierzynski singling to left scoring Dye.

The bottom of the first, the Cubs did something I've hardley seen from them especially as of late and that's to score 7 runs in a single inning. Juan Pierre singled to right, Ronny Cedeno reached on bunt single to first, Juan Pierre moves to second. Derrek Lee doubled to center, scoring Pierre, Cedeno to third. Cedeno then scored and Lee goes to third on throwing error by Rob Mackowiak. Aramis Ramirez hit sacrifice fly to left, Lee scored. Michael Barrett homers to left center (his 9th). Matt Murton doubled to deep right. Neifi Perez doubles to left scoring Murton. Carlos Zambrano homered to left (his 3rd) Perez scored.

Top of the 4th, Juan Uribe hits his 10th of the year scoring Pierzynski & Alex Cintron.

Bottom of the 5th, Matt Murton grounds into a fielder's choice at short, scoring Ramirez. Barret & Murton scores on Neifi Perez's 2nd HR of the year.

Top of the 7th, the Sox get a couple of runs back. starting with Jim Thome's 27th HR of the year. 3 batters later, Paul Konerko singles to right scoring Podsednick.

Bottom of the 7th, Angel Pagan hits his 1st career HR off of Cliff Politte. 3 batters later Jacque Jones doubles to deep center scoring Murton.

Top of the 8th, Mackowiak scores when Joe Crede hits his 16th HR. After a Podsednik strike out, Tadahito Iguchi hits his 9th HR of the year.

Bottom of the 8th, with Barrett on 1st, Pagan hits his 2nd HR of the game to center.

Top of the 9th - the White Sox threatened. With Bob Howry pitching and 1 out, the Sox ended up loading the bases - Jermaine Dye is on 3rd, Ross Gload is on 2nd & Mackowiak is on 1st. Uribe sacrifices to right scoring Dye. Next batter, Joe Crede grounds into a fielder's choice to 2nd - game over.

Winning Pitcher - Carlos Zambrano (7-3) Loosing pitcher - Mark Buehrle (9-5) Save - Bob Howry (2)
