Chet Laabs

Chet Laabs (Chester Peter Laabs) was born on April 30, 1912 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He made his Major League debut on May 5, 1937 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1937, his rookie year, he hit .240 with 8 home runs and 37 RBI. Laabs played for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Browns and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 11 year career.
Most people believe that Chet Laabs's best season was 1942, when he slugged 27 home runs, hit for a .275 average and knocked in 99 runs.
