Cheating in Fantasy Football!

by FanProphet

I have noticed that in some of these free fantasy football leagues fantasy team owners often cheat to gain an unfair advantage to win their leagues.  I have also heard of owners complaining of this type of unfairness, but continuing to play and tolerate such undesirable behavior in these leagues. First of all, why would anyone cheat in a free game? Second of all, why would anyone play in multiple leagues and choose to take notice of one league that cheats?  Forget about it, just quit or join a pay league where you can draft on a weekly basis and/or play a salary cap league where you don't have to worry about cheaters. Each week everything changes...new starters, new competitions, and different results. This is how the future of fantasy football will be played. For more information on Fantasy Football see more on my home page.... Good luck and enjoy the fun! See you at the games!

It is called colusion; when two or more teams (doesn't matter how many owners have those teams) combine both rosters to cheat. Cheating is nothing new in fantasy sports. It is unfortunate, but it happens all the time. I have found the best way to avoid it, is to find a group of people you can trust and play with them. Draft offline and play the game for fun with punishments against cheaters (financailly or points taken off or something)

For sure, but is it collusion when one guy plays multiple screenames? LMAO! Or, is that called ridiculous? Whatever we want to call it, it makes no sense but I hear people complaining about it all the time. I would never play in a free league unless it was a blogger league, where if they cheated or quit, everyone would know. LOL!

Technically it is still colusion, even though it is stupid. They should be forced to give up all their first round picks, have those guys put on waivers. People are stupid. Imagine how that thought process goes, "Hey, I'm going to cheat to win." What are you winning again? O thats right, you are beating yourself and two other people who you dont know and cannot get bragging rights to. Good idea, dumbass

Never had anyone cheat in the two leagues I run. Everyone knows everyone else for the most part, and any questionable deals are reviewed. Why do you think that there are fantasy judges now...either Sports Illustrated or ESPN the Magazine had an article about this a few weeks back, just can't remember which.

Yeah I never played online (normally with friends) and the leagues I'm in online I would never think of it. However, I've heard people talk about this and it's actually pretty funny to think someone would cheat online.
