Born on January 8, 1872 in Anderson, Indiana, Chauncey Fisher (Chauncey Burr Fisher) played for the Cleveland Spiders, Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Bridegrooms, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants over the course of his 5 year career. Fisher broke into the bigs on September 20, 1893 with the Cleveland Spiders, and put up a 7.76 ERA in 102 innings pitched in 1894, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Chauncey Fisher's best season was 1896, when he posted a 4.45 ERA and won 10 games.
