Charlie Way (Charles A. Way) was born on December 29, 1897 in Embreeville, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Downingtown (PA), Way attended Pennsylvania State University. Way made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Canton Bulldogs. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Canton Bulldogs the entire time. Way also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Frankford Yellow Jackets the entire time. Way also played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Philadelphia Quakers the entire time.
