Born on January 9, 1919 in Taylorsville, Georgia, Charlie Sproull (Charles William Sproull) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 1 year career. Sproull broke into the bigs on April 19, 1945 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 5.94 ERA in 130.1 innings pitched in 1945, his rookie year.
