Charlie Silvera (Charles Anthony Ryan Silvera) was born on October 13, 1924 in San Francisco, California. He made his Major League debut on September 29, 1948 for the New York Yankees. In 1949, his rookie year, he hit .315 with 0 home runs and 13 RBI. Silvera played for the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Charlie Silvera's best season was 1949, when he hit for a .315 average.
