Charlie Puleo
[edit] Biography
Born on February 7, 1955 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Charlie Puleo (Charles Michael Puleo) played for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 8 year career. Puleo broke into the bigs on September 16, 1981 with the New York Mets, and put up a 4.47 ERA in 171 innings pitched in 1982, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Charlie Puleo's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1982, when he posted a 4.47 ERA and struck out 98 batters. However, others believe that it was 1987, when he posted a 4.23 ERA and struck out 99 batters.
