Charlie Neal (Charles Lenard Neal) was born on January 30, 1931 in Longview, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1956 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1956, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 2 home runs and 14 RBI. Neal played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Charlie Neal's best season was 1959, when he slugged 19 home runs, hit for a .287 average and knocked in 83 runs.
