Charlie Metro (Charles Metro) was born on April 28, 1919 in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on May 4, 1943 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .210 with 3 home runs and 15 RBI. Metro played for the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 3 year career.
