Charlie Mead (Charles Richard Mead) was born on April 9, 1921 in Vermillion, Alberta (Canada). He made his Major League debut on August 28, 1943 for the New York Giants. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .274 with 1 home run and 13 RBI. Mead played for the New York Giants for his entire 3 year career.
