Born on September 28, 1963 in Knob Noster, Missouri, Charlie Kerfeld (Charles Patrick Kerfeld) played for the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 4 year career. Kerfeld broke into the bigs on July 27, 1985 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 2.69 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Charlie Kerfeld's best season was 1986, when he posted a 2.69 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 77 batters.
