Charlie Getty (Charles Matthew Getty) was born on July 24, 1952 in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. After going to high school at Pompton Lakes (NJ), Getty attended Pennsylvania State University. Getty made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1977 was Charlie Getty's best year.
