Charlie Engle (Charlie August Engle) was born on August 27, 1903 in New York, New York. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1925 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1930, his rookie year, he hit .264 with 0 home runs and 15 RBI. Engle played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 3 year career.
