Born on January 1, 1924 in Atlanta, Georgia, Charlie Bishop (Charles Tuller Bishop) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 4 year career. Bishop broke into the bigs on August 22, 1952 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 5.66 ERA in 160.2 innings pitched in 1953, his rookie year.
