Charlie Barbour (Charles Smith Barber) was born on November 13, 1904 in Martinsville, Virginia. After going to high school at Martinsville (VA), Barbour attended Virginia Military Institute. Barbour made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Buffalo Bisons. He played for the Buffalo Bisons for his entire 1 year career.
