Charlie Atherton (Charles Morgan Herbert Atherton) was born on November 19, 1874 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on May 30, 1899 for the Washington Senators. In 1899, his rookie year, he hit .248 with 0 home runs and 23 RBI. Atherton played for the Washington Senators for his entire 1 year career.
