Charley Taylor (Charles Robert Taylor) was born on September 28, 1941 in Grand Prairie, Texas. After going to high school at Dolworth (Grand Prairie, TX), Taylor attended Arizona State University. Taylor made his professional debut in the NFL in 1964 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 13 year career.

Most people believe that 1966 was Charley Taylor's best year, as he hauled in 72 receptions, had 1119 receiving yards and caught 12 TD passes.
