Charley Rieves (Charles Ernest Rieves) was born on January 6, 1939 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. After going to high school at Anguilla (MS), Rieves attended the University of Alabama and the University of Houston. Rieves made his professional debut in the AFL in 1962 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Houston Oilers and Oakland Raiders over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1964 was Charley Rieves's best year.
