Charley Ellzey (Charles Ellzey) was born on February 17, 1938 in Meridian, Mississippi. After going to high school at Meridian (MS), Ellzey attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Ellzey made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.
