Charles Philyaw (Charles Henry Philyaw) was born on February 25, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After going to high school at Bethune (Shreveport, LA), Philyaw attended Texas Southern University. Philyaw made his professional debut in the NFL in 1976 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Oakland Raiders for his entire 4 year career.
