Cecil Travis (Cecil Howell Travis) was born on August 8, 1913 in Riverdale, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on May 16, 1933 for the Washington Senators. In 1934, his rookie year, he hit .319 with 1 home run and 53 RBI. Travis played for the Washington Senators for his entire 12 year career.

Most people believe that Cecil Travis's best season was 1941, when he hit for a .359 average and knocked in 101 runs.
