East Carolina has three main rivalries and a developing rivalry with fellow C-USA members Marshall University and the University of Central Florida. ECU's three main rivals are North Carolina State University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and the University of Southern Mississippi. The rivalry with VPI had been dormant for awhile, but will be revived on future schedules. East Carolina also has a baseball rivalry with UNC-Wilmington.
