Casey Merrill (Richard Casey Merrill) was born on July 16, 1957 in Oakland, California. After going to high school at Monte Vista (Danville, CA), Merrill attended the University of California, Davis. Merrill made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1984 was Casey Merrill's best year, as he recorded 8.5 sacks.
