Born on December 20, 1892 in Arcadia, Kansas, Deacon Jones (Carroll Elmer Jones) played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 3 year career. Jones broke into the bigs on September 23, 1916 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.92 ERA in 77 innings pitched in 1917, his rookie year.
