Carlos Martinez (Carlos Alberto Escobar Martinez) was born on August 11, 1964 in La Guaira, Vargas (Venezuela). He made his Major League debut on September 2, 1988 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1989, his rookie year, he hit .300 with 5 home runs and 32 RBI. Martinez played for the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and California Angels over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Carlos Martinez's best season was 1989, when he hit for a .300 average.
