Carl Mankat (Carl Robert Mankat) was born on January 13, 1904 in Dayton, Ohio. After going to high school at Steele (Dayton, OH), Mankat attended Colgate University. Mankat made his professional debut in the NFL in 1928 with the Dayton Triangles. He played for the Dayton Triangles for his entire 2 year career.
