Carl Heldt (Carl Deiderich Heldt) was born on March 20, 1913 in Evansville, Indiana. Heldt attended Purdue University. Heldt made his professional debut in the NFL in 1935 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1936 was Carl Heldt's best year.
