Born on November 5, 1905 in Medina, New York, Carl Fischer (Charles William Fischer) played for the Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns, Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 7 year career. Fischer broke into the bigs on July 19, 1930 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 4.38 ERA in 191 innings pitched in 1931, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Carl Fischer's best season was 1931, when he posted a 4.38 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 96 batters.
