Carl Eller (Carl L. Eller) was born on February 25, 1942 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After going to high school at Atkins (Winston-Salem, NC), Eller attended the University of Minnesota. Eller made his professional debut in the NFL in 1964 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks over the course of his 16 year career.

Most people believe that 1964 was Carl Eller's best year, as he recovered 4 opponents fumbles and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
