Can someone please remove George McPhee, the Capitals General Manager? He is, and I believe this passionately the reason they have had so many troublesome years of little if any result.

As a Capitals fan from youth, I have watched the team be beaten down by the Penguins and teams from our own division make the playoffs with great success (i.e.: Tampa Bay, Carolina).

We keep changing our players and yet we still have nothing to show for it all. Maybe, its time we trade for someone with an ability to create a playoff-bound team.

Have you seen the Caps play hockey in the last two seasons? They are on a small losing skid right now, but currently they are building a tam exactly how it should be done. Young talent and veteren leadership with the draft and not blowing a lot of cap money.

Alexander Ovechkin can almost single-handedly carry them to a respectable finish. A year or two's bad finishes may prove good in the long run with the early draft picks they'll get.

Give it time and before you know it they will trade Ovechkin, Semin and the rest of the band in an effort to "rebuild".
