Cap Tipped to Bonds

Today it was announced that Barry Bonds will be starting in the all star game in his home park. Truly he deserved it, I'm glad he got what he has earned through his play this season. All anyone has talked about with Bonds is did he or didn't he, will he go to jail, or he stinks. Well while we focus on him for breaking the single season and soon to be all-time home run record, we are tearing him apart. Lots of people are just waiting for something to be found on him, ever since Balco its, Barry did it and he'll be caught. We let McGwire, Canseco, Boone, Bagwell, and Sheffield among others get a pass and move on but not Bonds. We refuse to move on from something that happened a while ago. We are stuck on the girlfriend we had 5 years ago even though there are better chicks right in front of us.
We've been waiting for him to retire to get away from the attacks, we've waited for him to fall apart like Palmerio so we can say see look without the steroids hes nothing. Well guess what, he hasn't done that; under a microscope more than cancer, Bonds has proven that he is a great player .302 BA. He is still the most feared hitter in the league, don't believe me; his 82 walks lead the league. He's been helping the Giants terrible offense by having a .512 obp(better by nearly .070 than anyone else in the MLB). Now sure those numbers are great but here's what makes them more impressive he has 16 hmrs, and a 12 ab/hmr rate. Which currently is second in the MLB behind Arod. This great performance is going on with steroid testing, with him being accused, verbally attacked, and taking the best any opposing fan base can throw at him. He's also about to be 43 years old, if he keeps up at this rate, this maybe the greatest season for any 40+ year old hitter EVER.
So why everyone is going to sit there and just give reasons why Bonds should be torn down, suspended, jailed, everything under the sun. I'm going to sit here and simply my cap to Mr. Bonds. He deserves this, to start in what may be his last all-star game, in what has become his hometown. So thank you Mr. Bonds for something that may never be forgotten and overcoming the harshest everyone has to throw at you.
