Canucks Name Alain Vigneault New Head Coach

The Vancouver Canucks will name Alain Vigneault their new head coach. Vigneault worked for the Canucks AHL franchise in Manitoba in 2005-06. This will be Vigneault stint in the NHL. He coached three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens from 1997-98 to 1999-2000. Alain also coached Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Hull Olympiques, Beauport Harfangs, and the Prince Edward Island Rockets.

The team is actually called the Prince Edward Island Rocket, not Rockets. They are named after Hall of Famer Maurice "The Rocket" Richard as the franchise was orignally located in Montreal before moving to Charlottetown in 2003.
